And his accent would sure be different than the local one...heh.

You celebrate Good Friday with torture porn? That's more than a little creepy.

I would maybe watch Jesus Christ Superstar.

I don't have Jesus Christ Superstar. Risen perhaps though? Shorter, less violent by far.

As for why PotC; tradition, since most of it is set on Good Friday*. Have to wince the entire way through, as you said, it's rather torture-porn-y; Mel Gibson has some big issues.

*I actually hate Good Friday. Nothing good in my lifetime has happened on it. My grandfather's disabling stroke that left him paralyzed and mostly unable to speak happened on Good Friday. Few other minor bad things over the years. Plus, petulantly, I get so whiny when Fasting.

Need to think of a witty signature.

It's tax season...I work for a CPA and will be at work tomorrow. No watching crucifixion movies for me. Boss is Jewish anyway so I don't think Easter matters any more to him than it does to me.

Ya know...you don't have to do those Catholic things...you choose to. I can't feel sorry for your whininess due to fasting. I will eat chocolate on your behalf tomorrow. Angel

Makes me wonder how the boss feels about that sort of talk as well then, when it happens in the workplace. Also, you're right on more levels than you know, technically if I split hairs, I could probably claim the inability to Fast for medical purposes.

As for the chocolate, go for it! I would never stand between anyone and their chocolate, even if it's being offered up on my behalf. Tongue

I came here to get away from the trolls at the Amazon atheist forum, but TTA has its share too.

Why do some people have to lie all the time?

I found little Reese's bunnies...they are small and sort of flat and have a perfect mixture of PB and chocolate. I am hoping they still have some when I get groceries this weekend. Very yummy.

E - It's Easter week...this is my favorite holiday, it's just so special. Then a description of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, blah, blah, blah. The services Sunday will be so wonderful.

M - The most moving service I ever attended was one at Rick Warren's church in California. It was so meaningful.

E - Oh how wonderful. (With stars in her eyes and nearly breathless...) Was he saving people?

Me - (In my head.) Check please...
Before I got roped into all the happy, clappy god stuff, I took a break for a few minutes in hopes that the conversation topic would either change or stop completely.

My favorite holiday happens to be Thanksgiving. It used to be Christmas when I was a kid, but now it just seems to the time of year that I bleed money. Thanksgiving is a day of binge eating, which I enjoy once in a while.
