LOL, yes of course, I meant by someone else. Nice catch.

Excellent quote by Butler! Though depressing and rather spot on. Sad

Which is why I prefer the classic caipirinha (with lime and sugar, but not too much sugar. Oh, and the passion fruit one. Love this fruit so much... and you can't get in Bulgaria for love nor money. It's also on the tarty, sour-y side (my favourite kind. Rolleyes ) and is just perfect!

(Wasn't much of a drinker before I came to Brazil the first time (enough heavy drinkers around me to put me off it for a long long time). Found out it helps shut up my annoying, noisy, overly anxious and obsessive, roler-coaster of brain for a bit, and now really like it (and myself when I've had a drink. Rolleyes )

Yeah, that glasscock bit is priceless and Alan Davies is the cutest. You might enjoy this one too, then. I love their reaction - it's the first episode and no one's quite sure whether they should laugh or not. Laugh out load

But QI is great - intelligent and funny, and witty, with my favourite type of weird, sometimes rather absurd wit and humour. Love it to bits. Only, makes me miss having people like this in my real life Sadcryface

The passion fruit one sounds so delicious too. (I think mainly it's that I hate the taste of alcohol personally, so it has to be covered, and something tart-y does that well.) Why does every drink you post have to look like it's great? Not a bad thing mind you, but still.

(Sounds like a good reason to drink some, and not drink at first. Never drank enough to see if the shut down thing is similar, but alcoholics on both sides of the family, so sort of a "never drink enough to risk it" deal. Had maybe...3 alcoholic beverages in 2 years? Glad it helps you like yourself as well, you deserve the self confidence!)

This show seems so amazingly fun! Even with that first episode with the hesitation, "Do we laugh or not" "idk..." sort of looks between them. You're making me miss having people in real life like that too Sadcryface Part of why I've interviewed for a job closer to home, having friends like that, knowing almost no one after two years in an area. For some reason, QI is really making me wish there was a group here to play Cards Against Humanity with, but the short list of folks I know is with their family or has previous plans.

Here they are celebrating their man-god for sacrificing himself to save them “for they know not what they do” then turn around and kick their child out into the streets. Fucking failures as parents. Angry

Not that it's worth anything, but it pisses me off too.

So does this, for that matter (discretionary spoiler tag for those avoiding a certain holiday):

Yeah, I don't like the taste of alcohol either and can only drink it in cocktails. Bu the respite from all the anxiousness and obsessions is most welcome. In combo with QI, it's just perfect.

And yeah, I'm afraid I seem doomed to spend my life without really finding my... kind of people. At least not in the same place anyway...

Thought I might have this here, at least for a bit... was wrong, of course. When would I finally learn never to raise my freaking hopes up. Not even a freaking inch. Idiot! Censored

But let's not go there... any more than I just did Rolleyes

And sorry about the alcoholics. I know what it's like Hug And good luck with the job!

I just checked my thermometer...it is 98 degrees Fahrenheit in my office (36.6 Celsius). We don't control our own heat, and it's blasting heat through the vents, plus office faces the sun through the window (got the blinds drawn), and it's currently 78F/25C outside. I'll take it over being cold, but pretty warm to be grading papers to.

It sounds like it could be a neat mix, be able to relax, be able to laugh, enjoy the taste of something actually due to the fruitiness masking the burning taste of the alcohol! Were you a theist, I might try to comfort you with the platitude that "God has a plan" (a platitude I personally hate hearing, but people seem to think its comforting), but since not...I know that feeling very well. Hug And I hope that you can find your kind of people, and in the same place, instead of only online in places like TTA. You're smart and have a sharp sarcastic wit, so you seem like you'd be one of the most fun people to hang out with ever and enjoy a quiz show with, or a game of some type.

I'm sorry you raised your hopes up and they got dashed. Hug That's the worst, because we always end up blaming ourselves. Which you shouldn't. But okay, won't go there, since I don't know the situation, and you said to not get very far into it.

And thanks, I only know them through my parents' stories. They all died before I was born, except one. My uncle, dad's youngest brother, died when I was four from Cirrhosis. And thanks, fingers crossed!

RE: Ranting corner
This isn't a bad thing, just an odd thing.

The man took the kids to the other house to do some work and I'm at home waiting for the clock guy to come.

Moms weirdness:

I've never been alone in the house before

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

How is that even possible? Gasp

I live for the times when I have the house to myself. When husband takes vacation (I personally think he gets too much) and is going to be home on Sunday, I want to cry.

I need alone time...totally alone time on a regular basis.

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF
