Me too, Chas.

Same for Hopkins...

Vera,
After the first mistranslation, there is no other.

How addicted of me is it that anytime I hear of Hopkins and Burton, I think of Rob Brydon on Qi (I really like him, though... even more so after I found out he's a pretty great singer, too...),

I'm definitely not a poetry person, but this is a great poem. Comes to show how right I am in my belief that you, guys, are the heart and soul of European culture (no matter what the French may say). It may be the wine talking, but I just love the British...

The worst part is, people are actually praising her for her STYLE. Being addicted to vampire willies I can somehow wrap my mind around, but actually thinking the writing is good, when it's so bad, it could get a person out of a coma and make him hang himself with his own catheter... No

For a moment I thought you were reading 50 shades of grey. ;-)

I wish I was just reading it. I'm TRANSLATING it. On the upside - I 'm getting paid. On the downside, it's worse than 50 Shades (I'm guessing though, haven't really read it). Like I said - I'm getting paid and that's all that matters.. otherwise I just may have to kill myself... and if I'm ever gonna do it, I'd rather it wasn't because of this talentless hack Tongue

I don't even like to touch them or be seen walking through that section in a book store. I loathe them as well. A few years ago, though, I had a coworker who wanted to expand her library--she's super sweet but not always so bright, and being in the professional environment it took me a minute to figure out she was referring to "those" kind of,books. So I took her to the bookstore and showed her where to find them--her eyes glazed over like HoC's over his Gwynnies....

PS--welcome back, kid Wink nice to see ya' around Hug

Taffy was a Welshman, Taffy was a thief;
Taffy came to my house and stole a piece of beef;
I went to Taffy's house, Taffy wasn't in;
I jumped upon his Sunday hat and poked it with a pin.

Taffy was a Welshman, Taffy was a sham;
Taffy came to my house and stole a piece of lamb;
I went to Taffy's house, Taffy was away,
I stuffed his socks with sawdust and filled his shoes with clay.

Taffy was a Welshman, Taffy was a cheat,
Taffy came to my house, and stole a piece of meat;
I went to Taffy's house, Taffy was not there,
I hung his coat and trousers to roast before a fire.
