Right. Maryland has the cold winters...

Big Grin

Bet we have a bigger shift in ave temps than you do. 100*f + in the summer and 15*f in the winter.

All right. You get that one. I checked average summer high to average winter low here; 75 to 0 Fahrenheit.

We get +100º F in the summer to -20º F in winter, thought more commonly +96º F in the summer to -10º F in winter.

Depends; we talking average daily temps here? Or average daily extremes? Or all-time record temps? Or average outlying temperatures?

Last week couple of weeks the ave temp here has been 102*f for the week (during that heat wave) it's cooled down to a nice breezy 95* this week. We hit triple digits fairly often here.

RE: Ranting corner
Hmm...Here in the mountains of TN it doesn't usually break the 100 F mark, nor does it usually dip below 0 F, but I have seen in bust in at 110 F and go as low as -20 F in my lifetime. The real killer is the humidity in the summer, but I would say anything over 95 is unusual.

The coldest I have ever felt is about -30 F in the Chicago area in 2007 with a windchill factor making it abut -50 F. The hottest weather I've ever felt is definitely Kuwait. It was dry, but Jesus, it was over 130 F.

Two of my toenails are falling off. It is the coolest, most unattractive thing to happen to me thus far in my life.

See, now, it got to 91F here last week, and that's about as hot as it ever gets. Still too damn hot for me, mind.

And I checked the average monthly temperatures for where Chas lives, and got figures from 17 to 82 Fahrenheit. If I'm allowed to exaggerate like that, then I can claim 92 to -32 Fahrenheit as typical yearly ranges.

I would've figured the swing was generally at least as much here (being rather more continental); you're much closer to the ocean, which tends to be moderating; the prevailing winds might be from inland, though (hell if I know weather patterns in Maryland), and that'd be less applicable.

It's cool? Haha. My big toe toenail turned black and fell off once, because I slammed it in the front door.

In other news, I have been so busy with work this week I sort of forgot to call the dentist, and my toothache is killing me right now. I should have gone a while ago, before it started hurting, because it was already chipped (one of my lower right premolars, side is cracked). So it's kind of my own damn fault, but I was putting it off because I can't say no to work, I guess, so I've taken on so much work I haven't slept or seen the dentist, etc. Damnit.
