Didn't get too panicked about it, was out of town and didn't want to deal with an ER and had a physical scheduled for last Monday anyway. So I hobble around a couple days and go to the doctor...physical is paid for but I am sure I will have to pay for part of the bloodwork and other labs as well as the flu shot once the insurance company decides what it will and won't pay for. Doctor sends me for X-rays, copay paid and X-rays taken. Call later from nurse says foot has no broken bones and to take Aleve for the pain. Says if it doesn't get better, see a specialist. I asked for the number of the podiatrist that used to be next door to my doctor. Couldn't see him till last Friday. He has received the radiologist report. Says nothing is broken but you have this other condition...take these pills once a day and rest your foot as much as possible come back in two weeks, well his schedule is full so it will have to be three weeks. Pay the copay. Spend most of the weekend sitting with my foot up and wishing the pills he gave me did more than they do. Today I get a call from him...radiologist didn't read the films right, there is a broken bone in my foot...that I have been hobbling around on for over a week! So back to see him tomorrow and yet another copay.

I get that they are the ones with all the schooling but I don't run to the doctor and whine...if I say that I am pretty sure something is broken there's a damn good chance that it's broken...FUCK!

Getting around despite a broken bone in your foot? Shocking You're a bad ass!
I know it wouldn't fix anything, but I'd be hard pressed to be civil to those retards Angry

I am a bit cranky, but I have dealt with worse.

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Waiters, waitresses, bartenders, hair stylists, dog groomers, manicurists, tattoo artists, valet parking staff (the only parking option at one of my doctor's offices)...the list is endless.

The idea though is that you get a cheaper product because the business owner doesn't need to pay staff as much.
So that than raises the next question of what is the price difference between an American restaurant and say a Canadian one?
You might find that with tip they're probably the same total amount.

In theory it's a pretty good idea, the waiter gets paid based on performance, but that only works if goods are cheaper because of it.

Waiters get paid much here. I worked as a waiter as a vacation job,and i earned 25% more than my mom.
I never saw a place where you tip ppl here. And the thing is, i dont like performance-based tipping. When you and i have a bad day, it doesnt influence your salary. But if a waiter has a bad day,his money decreases

And what's even worse, is that if your customers have a bad day, your pay often decreases. And some people just don't like to tip, like my mom. Whenever I go to a restaurant with my mom, I have to hide the tip under my wallet and throw it on the table as she's leaving, or she'll have a fit that I "wasted money." It drives me nuts, because I know a lot of waitresses.

I can't even deal with humans anyway, I could never be a waitress. This is why I work behind a computer and scarcely have any human contact at all.

RE: Ranting corner
Driving to work this morning and stopped behind a long line of traffic at the light. We start to creep forward, van in front of me stops, I stop...guy behind me plows into my car pushing me into the van in front of me. Luckily I had my foot on the brake so the second (forward impact) wasn't too bad. But am all bruised and sore from the shoulder belt. Upper back, shoulders, chest all tightening up. Doctor says I am going to feel worse tomorrow and even worse the next day...UGH. Waiting for my medication and hope to sleep till about Friday. FML...I should just never leave the house.

Also have to have the front and back of my car repaired. Luckily everyone involved actually has insurance.
