Yep - big Ip Man fan.
Have you seen Grandmaster - great fighting and fantastic historical period film. Thumbsup I'd give it a 8 of 10.

I've loved Donnie Yen for a long time. I wish more people in the US knew him - his fighting is so fluid.

For the camp value alone... I'd give it a 6.
The soundtrack kind of bumps it up to about 8.
Probably just me, though. Shy

I really liked this movie! Have re-watched it on HBO multiple times since. It likely is a nostalgic thing. Nothing wrong with that Kim. Yes, I agree about the soundtrack!!

4/5. I enjoy seeing people following their passions, even when they're ones I don't share. The animated framing scenes are a riot, though the clips of the actual show do not instill any desire in me to watch it.

A friend of mine likes B horror movies and tonight we all got an eyeful seeing Godzilla. On a 0-10 scale with the original Alien being a 10 this was a 2 at best, long as shit, predictable and impossible to connect with the characters.

RE: Rate the Last Film You've Seen
I like writing reviews of movies, if you can call them reviews and not angry rants. So here is Godzilla 2014:

Oh wow, new Godzilla Movie was surprisingly good. I only wish that it had been made by the screen writers, producers and director of the 1998 American Godzilla movie. I'm sure if they had been behind this film we could have had the most versatile actor Matthew Broderick instead of boring Bryan Cranston. Also much more hilarious jokes! Like "That's a lot of fish!" Hahah!

Also with such hilarious screen writing we could have had with Broderick also Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider and John Leguizamo! Oh man it would have been the bomb! It's always great when you mix your horrible-monster-destroying-cities-and-people-dying-by-the-thousands -type movie with light hearted comedy, it creates a constant tone and people really know how feel about your movie.

Anyway, if you can enjoy a Godzilla movie without Matthew Broderick and constant b-grade jokes then go and see this movie. In the scale of versatile movie actors, Kristen Stewart being the most versatile and Gary Oldman being the least versatile, I'll give this movie a Keanu Reeves.

No really, it's pretty great, go and see it.

Godzilla (2014)

9/10

For true Godzilla fans only!

It is a slow build movie you don't really get to see much until the end and there are a lot of human subplots. So just like all the old TOHO movies. Godzilla looks awesome, the way he moves the destruction porn all of it. The acting was all decent to good, even the child actors were not annoying which is all you can ask. The effects looked great. The cinematography was absolutely perfect, no shaky cam bullshit nice long sweeping shots. This was a love letter to TOHO, the people making this were fans and there are several call backs during the film (Mothra etc) this more than makes up for the 98 disaster. If however you are looking for Michael Bay all explosions all the time no story just blow shit up this is not your movie. If you are not a fan of the old B movies this is not your movie. This was taking one of the Godzilla movies from the mid-80's and giving it a serious high budget American Disaster Film make-over. It worked, go see it.

Brazil... I've seen it before and always enjoyed it.

Dark, weird, crazy and quite funny film from Monty Python's very own Terry Gilliam.

Tonight I think I'll watch 'Withnail & I' again...
