I saw Deadpool yesterday and liked how the film did not take itself seriously. Reynolds mentioning his own name, a green suit etc. I don't usually like cartoon films or comic films as a rule. But it was fun.

Saw Bridge of spies a while ago. Very good.

RE: Rate the Last Film You've Seen
I'm taking my wife through the films that I rated before we met and she's doing the same for me.

Lately, we have seen:

Straw Dogs - I thought that it was frighteningly violent in its day. Now it seems quite tame. It shows, I suppose, just how much violence we see on our screens these days. We have become immune.

Bridges of Madison County - This is one to watch late at night to chill to.

The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds - I don't quite know what to say about this film. It's a Marmite film. You'll either hate or love it. It was directed (and produced) by Paul Newman. He cast his wife and one of his daughters and the daughter of Eli Wallach in the lead roles. Talk about nepotism. The Pulitzer prize-winning play was written by Paul Zindel.

I finally saw "Spotlight". It was an excellent film, and deserving of every Academy Award it received. Watching the actors who portrayed the survivors discuss the abuse they endured was tough.

Zootopia. Great movie highly recommend even for adults.

Next with Nicolas Cage. Much better than I expected.

The Desolation of Smaug. Meh, too rambling, disjointed and a poor knockoff.

Great animation, nice plot, good music, fun characters. The zootopia world is filled with lots of interesting characters. This is a good movie for children and adults.
