Very original.

How original is it, if it's predated by a film in the 70's? Wink

True.. original in the sense that I haven't seen anything like it.
Or that there's nothing on TV like it and hasn't been since the 70's...

The Accountant starring Ben Affleck, much better than I expected. 7/10

Antichrist starring Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg, is a movie about a greving couple whose child recently died. This is a psychological thriller that has a very slow burn before shit gets crazy but once it gets crazy this becomes Lord High Emperor of Crazyland. Strong performances by both leads, who are almost the only people in the entire film. If you are looking for something a bit chilling this Halloween it should fit the bill.

The Visit
I'm usually not a big fan of movies shot through handheld camera, so it took me a good 20 minutes before starting to be grasped by the story, but then, I enjoyed it. Great oppressive atmosphere. 7/10

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Saw it in the theater last night.

7 out of 10.

Unrealistic, completely unbelievable, just a bit ridiculous at times -- but then isn't that the point of movies????

Pretty fun for the most part - some cool homages to older movies.....

There's a great one to Jason and the Argonauts --- with a skeleton battle......

I wouldn't go way out of my way to see it -- but if you're just looking for some entertainment -- sure, why not??

Inferno, 3.5/5.0 Beautiful music by Hans Zimmer, gorgeous locales, good acting, but...it's just typical Dan Brown. Heroic self insert Langdon, secret society, betrayal by someone you trust, etc.

Need to think of a witty signature.

RE: Rate the Last Film You've Seen
Saw Dr. Strange last night.
Excellent movie. Good use of comedy. Lots of great special effects.

I realize they have to make an origin story first, but I was looking forward to seeing Dr. Strange in his full mastery of magic vs the Doctor Strange who doesn't really know what the fuck he's doing.

Tilda was excellent as the Ancient One. She's a really good actor. An interesting choice for Wong.

All an all, a good movie.

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
