There were flaws in both. The one thing that bothered me in The Hobbit was the addition of Tauriel. I understand artistic license but that was a little too far in my opinion.

But the original Lord of the Rings "pretty much" stuck to the storyline of the book. A little disjointed here and there but all in all it was a must see.

Hobbit movies were a fuck up from beginning to end Dodgy Pure money making. Hmpf Angry

The thing about The Hobbit, LOTR is that Tolkien never wanted them adapted,
they had to wait for him to die to get the rights to film it.
Tolkien intended to books to introduce young people to READING,
that's why The Hobbit is smaller and simpler for younger readers.
Now days you mention LOTR and people say, Oh yeah I've seen that movie.

Just watched Hacksaw Ridge. It was brilliant.

Watching Masterminds at this moment. Predictable, so far.

Have to see. Shy

I saw Get Out over the weekend. I really liked it. About an 8 out of 10. I recommend it.

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

A lot of people who saw the movies wouldn't have read the books anyway, and some people who saw the movies no doubt read the books afterwards.

Undecided

Well, I'll be goed to fuck.
It was ludicrous, bafoonish, absurd and a totally fucked up true story! Blink

If anyone doesn't think Americans aren't astoundingly disturbed, just check out this flick and keep telling yourself it really did happen.

For documentary purposes alone I give it a 7 of 10 - plus it was funny. Thumbsup

Hidden Figures was a really well done, true story. Kevin Costner does a pretty good supporting role in it too.
