RE: Rate the Last Film You've Seen
The last movie we rented from Redbox was the second installment of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. It was as pathetic as the first one.

Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

RE: Rate the Last Film You've Seen
John Wick + John Wick 2

I'm combining these as it's essentially the same thing in both movies lol.

In saying that though, they are good to watch, an essentially act as one giant movie with a third on the horizon, which looks to continue the story as well. It appears to be fairly low budget but has amazing action scenes/drama and has MANY of those "hey there's that guy/girl" style actors you recognise from TV/other movies.

My only negative is that certain things are a bit rushed in places, especially in the first one, (maybe because they presumed they won't get another one), but otherwise they are worth a watch.

Last night watched The Deer Hunter.

The acting was excellent, Christopher Walken, De Niro, Meryl Streep.....

But...

It was three hours long...it was broken into acts before Vietnam, in Vietnam, and after. But really long swaths of the film could have been eliminated and wouldn't have had any effect on the story or even the dialog.

Cloud Atlas....
Now there's a movie that is different! No beer&popcorn movie, but one that keeps your attention and makes you think. No massive violence and explosions in a modern movie, which was real nice too for a change.

Besides I really do like Tom Hanks.

On a scale from 1-10 I'd give it a 8.5, maybe even 9.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yes!!! That is the first movie that I have watched more than once in the theater. There are plenty I've watched over and over on DVD or digital media, but this is the only one I've been willing to pay to watch twice. I have watched several interviews with the cast and director. All the car stunts were real, and nothing was done with green screens. Ansel Elgort took stunt driving lessons and did some of his own stunts. He's also really into music in real life, and can sing, dance, and mix his own music. The man should have a brilliant career ahead of him. As an amusing aside, they said that one of the cars they wanted to use had so many built in safety features that the physically could not get it to perform the stunts. They even contacted the manufacturer to see if they could disable the safety features, and the manufacturer would not allow it.
