I might be a little biased as I actually met the man when they were filming Forrest Gump in Savannah. Really nice guy!

Onward, my faithful steed!

Odd that I'd always read the dragon's name as sounding like Smorg.

All I could think throughout the film as I tried to blank out my memories of the book after one after another liberty was taken was...

Chas!

Chas!

Chas!

Do NOT see his movie!

The audience enjoyed it and were oohing when they were supposed to ooh! and ahhing when they were supposed to ahh!

Legolas dwarf-surfing was unbearable but most all else was acceptable (once I had forced myself to forget the book).

Odd that I'd always read the dragon's name as sounding like Smorg.

I've never read the book. All I know is that the movie was quite boring.

There are movies he's done, when you become so immersed in the story that you forget he's an actor playing a role.

Except in this movie. He was Tom Hanks playing Walt Disney.

He wasn't awful -- at times he did have the accent right and tone...but it was more hit and miss. Disney had a certain way of speaking, speed, tone. Still the story was interesting and certainly worth seeing. Smile

An example might be, when I saw Hitchcock. Anthony Hopkins was so good, at times I became immersed in the character. I forgot it was Anthony Hopkins, he had the waddle, the drawl..the creepiness. Lol.
