Rating someone twice-how?
I was looking at this rep report:

BlackEyedGhost

So the member Observer rated them twice, on two separate occasions. How?

RE: Rating someone twice-how?
Rule changes don't revoke previous ratings (cf changes to user classes regarding who can give +1/2/etc).

Way before my time, but I'd assume that was allowed at some point.

No clue, I saw that too. Lol.

Might have been allowed when the forum was new and later changed.

So they could have rated them twice when the earlier forum software allowed it and it never updated the old ratings.

That was back when you could rep someone's post. We quickly got rid of that since it was almost immediately abused. It meant someone could basically give another person as much rep as they wanted.

Yes I'm pretty sure that's how it would work. Smile

I once *liked* something a forum team member (in our forum team management section) said twice. Like it showed two likes both from me.

Still have no clue how that went through, but we all had a good laugh.

RE: Rating someone twice-how?
I did not know that if I repped someone twice that it would not increase that person's rep. I discovered it when I did it and that only the comment part changed. As far as that increase in rep was concerned, it was well deserved. But I wasn't looking to pump anyone up like a balloon, this was one off. I made a comment in the "Rep-arations" thread that one could multiply rep a person, based on my experience. Then I learned the "grim" reality. Tongue
