Ready for Winter?
OK... all you folks south of the equator -- you can ignore this one... We'll get back to you in six months...

.....

I'm as ready for winter as I can possibly be. Storm windows all checked out, air conditioning put up, a final check for cracks and holes around the house - the roof checked out... All good......

Yesterday we moved stuff around in the barn - and got the snow blade on the truck. (we store it in the barn in the off season). The snow blade is on the tractor. I did some extensive work on my water system -- and I can now shut off the water to the garage - so if I want I can go without heating the garage.

I went and bought a used snowmobile (2001 Arctic Cat ultralight) and today - I went out and bought a NEW 2 stage self propelled snowblower................

This might just be the year that global warming finally kicks in -- and we go an entire winter without snow......

A guy can hope....

.......................................

RE: Ready for Winter?
...Are trying to say that... winter comes!!!![insert scary music here]

On a more serious not, this winter should be rather cold like the precedent one according to my local weather station.

Aren't Great Lakes winters just soo fucking lovely?

Heh, it doesn't matter how bad global warming gets, we will always have tons of snow in this region.

Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

I still have to pull the AC out and drain the irrigation, but we won't get frosts for another month or more on the west side of the Cascades.
My brother on the east side did his annual trip around all the sibling's properties with the big rental air compressor and blew out the lines, but they too are getting some crazy warm weather.

RE: Ready for Winter?
I hope for a winter without any real snow. Just like last year. And yes I'm ready for winter. . . there is no preparation needed.

RE: Ready for Winter?
Finished chopping wood, coal is also already bought so I'm ready for winter. I hope though it wouldn't be too cold.

Hell yes I'm ready. Summer needs to be gone. Looking forward to building an ice brick castle in the yard with my son and I love winter training in Vermont. We've got cool stuff planned.

RE: Ready for Winter?
I'm ready. I've got my supply of coal and turf. I like the dark winter evenings. It's a great feeling coming in from the cold and sitting down to the glow of an open fire.
