I have faith in humanity but I still lock my doors at night.

You have seen enough demonstrations of humanity. You have a reasonable expectation of people based on historical evidence. Faith is "I know that I can teleport even though no one is known to have ever done this".

8000 years before Jesus, the Egyptian god Horus said, "I am the way, the truth, the life."

Reasoned faith makes just as much sense as benevolent murder.

In that case it would make a lot of sense, wouldn't it? Consider

I said benevolent murder, not benevolent killing.

I'm aware of that because I have read your post. Active euthanasia happens to be illegal in many countries, including the majority of states in the USA.

Explain how murder equates with active euthanasia.

Murder is a legal term which is defined as "the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another".

As far as I can see, active euthanasia fits that definition perfectly because it's both planned and illegal.

Ok then. I'll try something different.

Reasoned faith makes just as much sense as benevolent rape.

How's that?

I completely understand the point of your comparison; let's leave it at that. Dodgy

RE: Reasoned faith? Please explain
Christians once were honest about what faith is, blind. 'We walk by faith, not by sight'. 'More blessed are those who have not seen and believed'. 'The evidence of things not seen'. That's biblical faith.

Then along come a cadre of apologists trying to respond to the continual erosion of dogma by science, and now Christians claim to have a reasonable faith. It's dishonest and unbiblical. The bible says that faith is a gift from god. You can't be argued into it.
