You would BBQ your dog if the voice in your head said to do it.

Calvinism = coma

It's all in your head, because there is no other place it could be.

RE: Religion and Faith - A Metaphorically Induced Coma
This sort of radicalism is exactly what I want to escape. I'm anti religion too, but denouncing/ridiculing friends and family is fucktarded stupid. And someone telling me I should do so can piss off.

I'll feel free to continue talking theology, talking philosophy, talking religion, palling around, and being generally friendly with my friends and family of any religion so long as they aren't trying to kill me. I usually even enjoy the discussion.

TT if you want to talk about how to stop religion then do it. No one is stopping you. That's not at all why I joined this forum, though. I'm getting exactly what I want to out of this forum and I'm not about to change up my game for your sake. So why do you insist on the rest of us stiffen up to your standards?

Why do you feel justified being an asshole to someone who isn't an asshole to you? KC is not the goddamned pope, feeding the countless millions of people with lies. He's just a dude on the internet chatting with some friends he made online. We're not "empowering" him- he'll take whatever conclusions he wants to take from any conversation- whether here or on some Christian forum. Here, at least, he's encountering people who think (hopefully more often than not) and who employ reason.

I don't get it, man, are you trying to recruit and army to go and slay the big bad religion monster? I understand the hostility toward religion itself, but I don't understand the need to escalate or eliminate these discussions.

If that's what you really want, then why not find a place that operates the way you want?

Personally I think that progress is being and religion is slowly dieing. It may not be obvious in the US political system right now, but time is ticking. The shores of religion are eroding.

Sir. No matter how nice a guy KC is or how friendly you like it here, his belief IS dangerous.
He is not willing to change yet every one of us is open to any evidence that is available.
So, keep on talking and he will keep on preaching and religion will continue to thrive, here on a site dubbed "The Thinking Atheist". Argh!
While it is true I am rather unfriendly to theists, it is for good reason.
They ARE the enemy.
Denouncing the silly beliefs of all theists is paramount to moving us forward.
The more we coddle them the more they eat it up.

C'mon, can't ya'll see it? KC is playing this place like a drum.

It's all in your head, because there is no other place it could be.
