Religious Absurdities in picture form
I woke up this morning to this in my instagram feed....

This is what certain religious people think logic is?

What if our justice system operated under this premise?
Kill 50 children in a day care by gunning them down? Death penalty.
Lust after a women (or man)? Death penalty.
Go on a raping spree over 3 states? Death penalty.
Get jealous of your next door neighbor's new Lexus? Death penalty!!

Oh the humanity!!!! I can't take the absurdity....I die a little more each day that I am exposed to this way of thinking.

Ugh I remember this from my pastor. All sin is sin--all is an equal offense to God.

Excuses are not reasons.

Actually, I might steal that pic for some of my own arguments.

RE: Religious Absurdities in picture form
The idea that eternal punishment is just, wise or necessary makes the most basic Christian assertions of god's benevolence or even intelligence absurd.

Eternal torment is pointless, what would the person being tormented learn? How would that be beneficial to anyone? How would that be superior to simply terminating their consciousness?

Why is belief the only value that has meaning to such a deity? This sounds like a system designed by barbarians to scare people into behaving and going along with whatever the arbiters of this religion wanted.

This god is neither benevolent or intelligent if that's the best it can come up with. Neither are the biblical myth writers......

That is a commonly held opinion but it isn't biblical.

The information in ancient libraries came from real minds of real people. The far more complex information in cells came from the far more intelligent mind of God.

So which sin can I be guilty of and still make it into heaven?
