RE: Remembering Nishi
Sad news. I have not had a personal connection to Erik here on the forums but it is plain as day that he certainly did with others. I am sad for his daughter and the rest of his family.

Please please let his actions be a message, a lesson to others here or anywhere else, to please seek help and companionship of others when dark thoughts arise. We will try our best and encourage more competent help when needed.

RE: Remembering Nishi
I didn't interact with with Nishi (Erik) much on here, maybe he was too nice of a guy to engage in the conversations I am typically involved in.

I'm not going to lie, it's times like these that always make wish there really was a heaven to get to interact with people I loved and liked again. As Dom said, the best way to honor him seems to be to acknowledge that we were lucky enough that he voluntarily gave his free time to spend and enjoy it here.

I hear he liked pokemon, so I'll share my favorite:

It was a sermon from a youth minister on suicide that turned me away from christianity. He talked about suicide as some shameful event and as thoughts about suicide as equally bad. He talked about how angry he was at his grandmother because HE would never see her again because she took her own life. Her death was all about HIM. Selfish prick. He spent that whole sermon talking about suicide and hell and NOT ONCE did he discuss with a bunch of teenagers what you should do if you or a friend is having suicidal thoughts.

There are few people I hate, but I think that youth minister may be one of them.

RE: Remembering Nishi
I don't know what to say. I didn't really know him, but he was always a pleasant presence. This is really, really sad to hear. I've been sitting here unable to type anything. I can't find anything to say. This is so fucking terrible.

I loved his humor. It was like sparkling champagne that endlessly tickled the funny bone.

Thread Title: Ode to Nishi

(poem by Jennybee to Nishi)

Nishi Karano Kaze
Your pm box has been filled for what seems like days
Please empty said box
so I can talk to you around the clocks

I am not a very good poet, mon
But that's because of your pokemon
fetish and nothing rhymes
with pokemon fetish...

(my poem to Nishi)

There once was a fella named Nishi
Whose yellow hat resembled a fishy
He claimed it was blue,
And not Pikachu
But we know Nishi is squishy.

Nishi's reply "1) Pikachu don't look like a fish.

2) I've never claimed it to be blue. . . i think. . . yeah, I'm sure I didn't

3) Ahhh. Fuck it. I admit, I like it."

Nishi's reply, "I. . . I don't quite know what to say. You just made me laugh so hard that I nearly blacked out. . .

(^_^) "

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

RE: Remembering Nishi
The first time I ever interacted with Erik was when he sent me a PM thanking me for sharing a song (embedded below) in the "What Are You Listening To?" thread. He said, "It is properly my favourite music at the moment." I was struck by his taking the time to send a PM to me thanking me for something so inconsequential.

Since then, he has been here for me during some dark times of my own. If I hadn't been online for a while, he would send me a PM just asking if I was alright.

This one is for Erik aka Nishi...

I just wanted to let you know that I love you even though you aren't naked right now. Heart
