Remove "in god we trust" White House Petition
While I was stumbling around the internet today trying to pass time at work, I came across an interesting poll that I was curious if others felt as passionate about as I did. It was on the White House's We the People Petition website.
Here is some background if you are interested... We petition the Obama Administration to: Remove "In God We Trust" from our currency and remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. Having God on our currency and in our Pledge of Allegiance fuels the false belief that the United States is a Christian nation. As declared in the Treaty of Tripoli, 1796, "...the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion." This was signed by president John Adams. Having God in our currency and in our Pledge of Allegiance directly disrespects those among us who are not of the Christian faith, and it should be removed. Anyone else see this or sign the petition? Thougths or comments? Here is the link if you care to look or sign the petition: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitio...e/sx9gbfgW Rob |

RE: Remove "in god we trust" White House Petition
What's that supposed to do? Protesting massively against the continuation of the Guantanamo Bay detention camp didn't do shit either. Neither did protesting against the Iraq war. Neither did protesting against the execution of Troy Davis. Neither did the Occupy Wall Street movement. Unless the Republicans are legally forced to do this, there's no way this is going to happen.
Miserable pessimist, signing out. ![]() ![]() |
