Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL): people with pre-existing conditions should pay more
The GOP fix for the healthcare system:

video

"Bill would allow insurance companies to require people with higher healthcare costs to contribute more to the insurance pool that helps offset these costs, thereby reducing the costs to those people who lead good lives, they're healthy..."

Granted, later in the clip he talks specifically about people who are ill through no fault of their own. However it is clear what the focus of the issue is, and it is not the people who need medical treatment.

So do you think everybody should pay the same?

Should a person with downs-syndrome pay more than someone without?

Should a chain-smoking, fast food junkie, alcoholic with lung cancer, diabetes and cirrhosis of the liver pay the same as an Olympic athlete????

And now you have to decide who qualifies and who doesn't.

What about bikers who forego helmets?

Senior citizens with multiple health issues?

Grandma has heart disease, osteoporosis, a bad hip, arthritis and two hearing aids.

Who decides what was her fault, what was genetics and what was bad luck?

What corporate board would you trust to make that decision?

Euthanasia. It's really the only kind thing to do.

As I see it, you're trying to qualify or disqualify people on the basis of an emotional reaction to their health situation.

Now if you're in favor of a socialized medicine solution, you're willing to enforce your emotionally derived solution on everyone else, regardless of how they feel about it.

If you're in favor of a more capitalistic approach, then there wouldn't be any form of free medical care, and you'd have to pay for it out of your own pocket.

And again, as I see it, neither system is a perfect solution.

I doubt there is one.

It's certainly more cost effective.

Bad example, super athletes incur tons of medical costs, while young but even more so once their joints give out.

Those evil 18 year olds who present with brain aneurysms should have known better. Facepalm

Heath-care Court, I say. Make em all go to Health Court and PROVE they lived "good lives", or bankrupt the lot of 'em, and turn them out to wander the street, until they fall over dead.

Fucking son of a bitch, stupidity.

Insufferable know-it-all.Einstein God has a plan for us. Please stop screwing it up with your prayers.
