Politics is wrought with lies. I expect to see some at the dem convention too. I look at the caliber of lies anymore...

Dem convention coming up soon.

Bullshit, saying politics is dirty does not make the parties the same. Only one party started our decline and that started with Reagan's deregulation and union busting 36 years ago. The only thing Dems as politicians can be blamed for is tripping over themselves trying to prove they are not the cold war commies the GOP has successfully and falsely painted them out to be, which has caused them to be far too compromising over that 36 year period. And our voter apathy at midterms and GOP gerrymandering hasn't helped.

BUT NO the parties are NOT the same one fucking bit. This isn't about Hillary, she wasn't a politician 36 years ago, and 1 person isn't every single person in our 3 branch system in any case.

Our voters as voters as progressives are on the right side of history with our ideas of livable wages, affordable health care, free higher education, equal pay for women and LGBT equal rights. The other party has fought those things forever, both as voters and politicians.

Our only problem as Dems, which is our biggest problem, is that we allow the party of fucking asshole 1% bigots control the narrative and our voter ground game in midterms have been lacking for far too long.

It was fucking insulting to me to watch that bullshit of Trump and the GOP claim to be on the side of workers women and gays knowing that party's history.

Business picked up for male sex workers during the GOP convention. Participants from the convention seemed to be kinda lonely. Awwww.

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

RE: Republican convention
I watched exactly 23 seconds of the shit show...accidentally clicked on a link for a live stream while Trump's wife was speaking and listened the laughable lies about his character, and later I did the same thing and watched three seconds of Newt (look at me I'm still relevant) Gingrich speaking.

That's my limit of republicans.

Oddly, it's doubtful I'll waste any time on the Democratic Convention.

I'll just wait politely for the Olympic Games to remember fondly why we bother to come together peacefully and celebrate human achievements.

There is little difference between the two.

I disagree. CN has its intelligent moments.

New York Times fact checks Trump's convention speech and finds it mostly true. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/07/22/us/...check.html

I'm not surprised he was mostly true, but really surprised ultra liberal New York Times gave his speech such high praise. Glad they could be so unbiased these days.

Mostly isn't entirely.

He stretched the truth and left important stuff out (like the refugee issue).

I just read a transcript of his speech. Maybe you had to watch it, but it read like crap and I'm being very generous when I say that.

I also can't believe it took an hour to say so little.

Also the first line was a lie. He's never been humble a day in his life. Tongue

Still mostly true or open to interpretation. Haven't seen any fact checks out there that show he was outright lying. People may disagree with some of his policies but his speech was well researched and written to prevent falsities.

I realized this was lacking an angry man yelling at a chair, no invisible skits were used this time, that's what the letdown was.
