Reality is, Obama and the Dems don't have to do shit. Bush tax cuts expire and sequestration cuts to defense and discretionary spending (which means entitlement programs are mostly exempt other than a 2% cut to Medicare providers) kick in. And it'll play out every bit as poorly for the Republicans as Gingrich v. Clinton played out in 95-96. Pretty clear which side's in the stronger bargaining position.
