RE: Research for my book
I had a friend in high school who dabbled in Wicca. His parents were free-spirited high school art teachers. I never knew what religious views they held, but they didn't really have a problem with their son taking the path that he did. I personally think he did it to rebel against the Christian establishment (we were living in the deep south). This leads me to some obvious questions: What drew you to Wicca in the first place? Did you come to it wholeheartedly, or did you do it in order to rebel like my friend? Who introduced you to the religion? Did you ever have any "personal experiences" akin to those that practitioners of the more mainstream religions experience? If so, did this influence you to stay in the religion as long as you did? Did you know any other people (perhaps in your own coven) that left for atheism?
