Rightglory?
ethos posted the following:

“And I don’t really know Orthodox (I prefer our term - "Rightglory" ) sites about religion, but then again I don't really need them."

That is a new one on me, anyone else ever hear the term before?
Since Google is my friend I found the following site OrthodoxChrsitianity.net and the very first page a came across the following Q&A from 2008

Q: Since Orthodox means Right Glory, it is the Church that rightly glorifies God... Does that mean everyone else glorifies God wrong?

A:No. Insofar as anyone else glorifies God as we do, then they do so the right way, even if they be outside the Orthodox Church. Only those who “glorify" God in a manner contradictory to or not approved by the Orthodox Way do so the wrong way.

Already my hair is standing on end Dodgy Anyone remember the name of the poster that was Christian Orthodox and kept proselytizing? Hopefully ethos will be different.

We will see how this will pan out but statistics I suppose aren't in ethos favor.

Hehe, it took me a couple of minutes to retranslate it back from my dearest darlingest language. Never even thought about its meaning.

I'm going to assume he just prefers the word, that's all. And Orthodoxy does have a nasty ring and connotations to it, if you think about it Yes

It sounds like it would have nationalistic overtones (right-glory), or like some weird porn category.

RE: Rightglory?
It sounds like some Christians that are twisting a word for their own purposes.

The definitions I found define orthodox "as right(correct) belief or opinion."

Orthos - right/correct

Doxa - opinion/belief

So you could say that I am an orthodox atheist, as my opinion about atheism is correct.

So an orthodox Christian is one that has a correct belief about their Christianity.

However, this 'right glory' bullshit is consistent with all the other bullshit that Christians make up, like most of quiverfull, Mormonism, and all the 'prosperity' churches just to name a few.
