Romney recruiting Kasich, Sasse for third-party option
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/pres...hird-party

Best case scenario: He siphons enough votes from the GOP nominee to guarantee that Hillary Clinton, the most corrupt politician in US history, becomes president.
Worse case scenario: Bernie decides to run third party as well, splitting up the vote so much that nobody can win 270 electoral votes. Congress picks a corrupt establishment politician and crowns him (or her) president.

That aside, I can't believe that a candidate who already lost the election twice would be their top choice. Laugh out load

I'm wondering about a Gary Johnson/John Kasich Libertarian ticket?

You're a big boy, I'm sure you can figure it out yourself.

What would that mean for the Republican party? I mean, if the biggest most powerful members of the party are jumping ship for open water it must be pretty much sunk. Is the one-two punch of the Tea Party and The Donald enough to fracture the party's relevance?

Not even close. Drinking Beverage
  • Richard Nixon
  • Governor Rod Blagojevich
  • Boss Tweed
  • Governor Ray Blanton
  • Huey Long
  • Spiro Agnew
  • Rep. James Traficant
  • and many more.

Grant and Reagan are the tops for presidential malfeasance (if we include their underlings) with G.W. Bush being a respectable third (Haliburton anyone?)

I believe I have stated here that the first time I read about the demise of the Republican Party was when Barry Goldwater didn't make it and the Phants were said to be all over, But they have stumbled on ever since and have held the top spot as many times as the others more or less.
