Romney the Roman
Military Service
Mitt Romney believes that young illegal immigrants who were brought
to the United States as children should have the chance to become
permanent residents, and eventually citizens, by serving honorably in
the United States military.

I find it funny that Romney wants the same system used by the romans to make conquered tribals part of the empire.

I am not saying it is bad, just that is basically the system the Romans used for tribals to become a citizen in the empire.

RE: Romney the Roman
But in all seriousness, very few of the immigrant children who grew up here are probably really fit for the military, mentally and physically, and have a desire to serve. If they have a desire to serve, that's great, but if they see it only as a way to citizenship, they might not serve as well. If they are forced to serve, they won't serve well. Military service should never be forced.

RE: Romney the Roman
So young children brought to the US against their will (parents dragging them along for the ride, though I'm sure most probably wanted to go I dunno but that's not the point) now being forced into potentially a life threatening situation against their will...

Hmm.. when do these kids get to think and act for themselves? I thought the US had free rights and shit.
