Rugby World Cup 2015
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume some of you are interested in discussing this exciting competition.

Who are you supporting?
What are your predictions?
Who's gonna shine?
Who's gonna flop?

Fixtures list and groups can be seen here.

So, here goes me:

Pool A: Oz & England
Pool B: S.A & Samoa
Pool C: N.Z & Argentina
Pool D: France & Ireland

QF1: S.A v Eng = Eng
QF2: NZ v Ireland = Ireland
QF3: France v Arg = France
QF4: Oz v Samoa = Oz

SF1: Ireland v Eng = Eng
SF2: France v Oz = France

Final: Eng V France = *England*

OK, not so much a prediction as a hope. My first big ask is for England to beat either Wales or Oz out of the pool. Then we've got S.A to beat which should be doable with a home advantage. I've got Ireland beating N.Z. I've also got Samoa beating USA out of the group which is a tough call.

What do y'all recon?

Interestingly, I was at a function at a hotel today in Surrey and it happened to be the base of the Namibian team. Good luck guys - try not to get hurt!

*Edit* Oops, just noticed a 'Sports' forum hidden away. I guess it'll give the mods something to do, moving this topic... You're welcome....

I'd like to see that just so I can see them kick earmuffs around the field in a victory lap.

Seriously though, I'd like to see the same thing happen to England that happened in the Women's World Cup. The Limeys can never be forgiven for 1812. Angry

You're kidding right?

NZ have never lost to Ireland. First time we played them was 110 years ago. Played 28 times and never lost.
So I think this is a BIG call.

Pool A: Oz & England
Pool B: S.A & Samoa
Pool C: N.Z & Argentina
Pool D: France & Ireland

QF1: S.A v Eng = SA
QF2: NZ v Ireland = NZ
QF3: France v Arg = France
QF4: Oz v Samoa = Oz

SF1: NZ v SA = NZ
SF2: France v Oz = Oz

Final: NZ V Oz = NZ

But of course having the tourney in UK means Eng and France will be stronger than usual.
It's not inconceivable that France beat Oz of that Eng beat SA.
If its a France Vs NZ final then I could see France winning the tourney, they do have a knack of unsettling the Kiwis in the knock out stages of the world cups.
NZ have never won a world cup away.

Ever since I watched the first rubby world cup as a kid, I only watch it to see the all blacks.

They are to rugby what Brazil is used to be to football.

I'd go with above except for one slight change : SF1: Ireland v Eng = Ireland Big Grin

There's always a first time. Munster did it, so why not the national team.

Yeah but they have a history of choking. How many WC's have they won, one?

Great teams though and always highly respected.

As an Aussie I have no hesitation of expressing my respect for my fellow Anzacs.
