Rule 5 is officially up
For those of you who haven't been involving yourselves in the forum stuff over the last few days (and those that have and have been awaiting any developments for that matter), rule 5 is now public and official on the forum. Seth expressed a desire to see a rule along these lines on the forum and so we now have one.

Here's a link to the rules thread for anyone who's interested in reading it.

Best and worst of Ferdinand .....
Best
Ferdinand: We don't really say 'theist' in Alabama. Here, you're either a Christian, or you're from Afghanistan and we fucking hate you.
Worst
Ferdinand: Everyone from British is so, like, fucking retarded.

That's quite good. Well done.

However, the statement "This forum is based around the principle of free-speech." is still there and it is simply too strong and therefore not true.

What I'm aiming to convey is that generally we are still based around free-speech. There is only one taboo topic and swearing and sexual language are totally acceptable. It's just not the practically total free-speech it was before. There will be some small limits if people are being too disruptive.

May want to update the list of Moderators since some stepped down recently.

OK, that sentence has been edited to read;

This forum is based around the principle of allowing people to speak freely as much as possible.

Hopefully that encompasses the gist of "we want people to speak freely, and swearing and talking about blow-jobs and crack openly is fine, as is practically any thread topic you can imagine, but there has to be the occasional limit to stop all hell breaking loose".

Yeah, it's the word "based" that is the problem. I'd rather it was amended to something like:

"This forum incorporates the principle of free-speech." -or-
"This forum honors the principle of free-speech." -or-
"This forum respects the principle of free-speech." -or-
something like that.

Edit: Oh, you beat me to it. Thumbsup
