I said going through hard times is no excuse for getting away with breaking rules, IE. using your phone in class or being disruptive. My example is an example of what could happen if we let people get away with things just because they are going through bad times. Sigh forget it.

It was a slippery slope fallacy and a misrepresentation of what I actually did say.

Fine, I apologize.

Accepted!

I know I feel better.

One in the military, one civilian. Force would be justified. This cop would not had been fired if he'd simply used an arm bar and escorted her out. If she resisted, put her in cuffs. No use of force violations there. Slamming her, then throwing her was unnecessary.

Force could be used in every case. It doesn't make it reasonable, necessary, justified or moral.

Do you really want to live in a world where armed guards are authorized to forcibly remove 15 year old girls from a classroom because they violated the school cell phone policy? Is that really where we are now? Is there really an acceptable level of violence for what she did?

What kills me about this is some of the same people who think this is acceptable also want to blame video games for our violent society. Maybe the problem is our government deals with its citizens violently and they react and learn in kind.

I don't think they called in the police for the cell phone violation. That is a stretch. She was asked to put her phone away. She refused. Repeatedly. She was asked to leave and report to the office. She refused. Repeatedly. The principal or some higher up showed up and asked her to leave. She refused. Repeatedly. Then the police were called in. How many chances do we give people? How long should they be allowed to disrupt the class? I say she had plenty of opportunities.

Sure. If by force you mean this.

Pretty sure an arm bar is a submission move in MMA. Remember seeing Frank Mir break several arms using it. Cop was a bigass weightlifter. He should've just picked her up and carried her. Instead he went all MMA on a girl. Good thing he didn't use an armbar because then you'd have a kid with a broken arm. Dude 'roid raged over a girl calmly sitting there disrespecting his AUTHORITAE. Should never have been allowed to be a cop.

Principal, teacher, and a cop. I think the three of them could carry a student and a desk pretty easy. Thumbsup

The reason we are all talking about this is because that school cop totally lost it and acted out of pure anger.

I suppose some of the recent times when cops were caught they had also lost it and acted out of anger, other times they were just assholes who got away with extreme assholiness for a long time.

Neither should happen, the assholes need to be removed and the angry men need to either learn to control themselves or find a job where they don't have to deal with the public.

That's not anger. That's rage. Like Berserker rage. And checking out some of his weightlifting pics, I'm going with 'roid rage. Unlike Girly, some people should just not be permitted supraphysiological levels of testosterone. Cops are the biggest number of juicers in the country. PDs need to institute surprise pee tests for cops for testosterone and other roids.

Desk should be on wheels so you can just roll them out, also remote control with preset destinations so the teacher can push a button and the desk would drive to the principles office.

Also, as pointed out by a teacher friend of mine, it doesn't appear that a counselor or school psychologist was called in to intervene before the cop was. That *should* have been the proper direction to try first when you have a nonviolent student disrupting class.
