The one movie I watch when I want to drink and be bummed out is The Remains of the Day...man, that one kicks my ass every time.
Seven is kind of a downer as well. The "communication" scene in The Sixth Sense is sad, but in a hopeful way - always like seeing it, as the actors do a great job. Where the Red Fern Grows is a big tear-jerker if you're a dog lover, the book moreso than the movie. The Sessions has a bittersweet ending too. (500) Days of Summer is a bummerfest with a hopeful ending. Clerks was originally supposed to end with Dante getting shot & killed by a robber - glad Kevin Smith didn't go that route... |
