Sadly, ...
Linda Ronstadt can no longer sing - Parkinson's Disease has cost her her voice.

Not sad, she's already sung, they can't take that away. .. Be like saying it's sad Ali can't box no more. He don't need to. Their records are already in place.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

“No one can sing with Parkinson’s disease,” Ronstadt said. “No matter how hard you try.”

Think she should show me what it looks like to try to raise awareness of the disease. Love has no pride.

RE: Sadly, ...
Read this today on a news feed and while I certainly remember her voice I have a weird piece of trivia that her name always brings up for me.

Many years ago...late 70s, the older sister of a friend and I got to be friends for a while. She had run away from home at about 16. The only way she could support herself was to strip. Eventually she made her way to California to 'get into modeling'. She ended up winning a contest in Gallery magazine as a Linda Rondstadt lookalike.

Crazily enough, that issue had been listed on Amazon.

And before I hear 'pics or it didn't happen:

Loved her voice. That's just sad. I saw her once at a fundraiser when she was dating then Gov Jerry Brown (our school class went to SF for a field trip to city hall). She was nice and signed some autographs.

The same Jerry Brown who's governor of California again.

Weird.

Oh man, She had a wonderful voice. That is really sad.
