Way too funny. Taste of their own medicine. Technically if they say no it's considered discrimination and that could be an interesting lawsuit.

Official ordained minister of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Please pm me with prayer requests to his noodly goodness. Remember, he boiled for your sins and loves you. Carbo Diem! RAmen.

The 10 Commandments statue is a clear violation of the law. A flagrant display of of why there is a separation of church and state may be needed from time to time to remind the fucking religious proselytizing pieces of shit politicians that government and religion do not belong in bed with one another.

Yeah, I get riled up and angry when I see the government 'at work'.

I don't think this group is the "Church of Satan" that LeVey started, the article refers to a group called "Satanic Temple".

I love this quote!

"I think these Satanists are a different group," Cleveland, R-Slaughterville, said. "You put them under the nut category."

Pot calling the kettle black!

Onward, my faithful steed!

Quote:"He's helping a satanic agenda grow more than any of us possibly could," Greaves said. "You don't walk around and see too many satanic temples around, but when you open the door to public spaces for us, that's when you're going to see us."

That is too fucking funny, because it's true.

Quote:"We would prefer to see Oklahoma's government officials work to faithfully serve our communities and improve the lives of Oklahomans instead of erecting granite monuments to show us all how righteous they are," Henderson said. [legal director of ACLU Oklahoma]

"But if the Ten Commandments, with its overtly Christian message, is allowed to stay at the Capitol, the Satanic Temple's proposed monument cannot be rejected because of its different religious viewpoint."

Why do people hate the ACLU again? Right, cause they talk sense.

Have people not learned by now that religion + government endorsement = public backlash? Apparently people haven't learned this yet...

The term is correct, but the apostrophe is not needed.

Nice. I've always found Hindu depictions of their mythos to be fun to look at. So colorful and ornate. Much more fun than a slab of granite telling everyone what they must NOT do.

I found it particularly silly that the excuse one politician had for believing it won't be awarded to them was because it didn't reflect Oklahoma values or history. LOL!
