Say a little prayer for Roy Boy Moore
Poor dear,
He goes on trial again today.
Laugh out load
Mr . Moore is a totally unpatriotic American. He has NO CLUE what "American Constitutional Values" even are. He does not possess a judicial temperament. He is a disgrace to American Jurisprudence. He needs to learn that FORCING his religion onto others is not a good thing. He's made Alabama a laughing stock of the legal profession. He just needs to go away. And STAY away.

Oh, the article is by Barry Lynn. I got to shake hands and have an over-dinner chat with Reverend Lynn of AU, when he came to speak as a guest of my local atheist group... one of the nicest fellows you'll ever meet. Passionately defends disestablishment because he knows that separation of church & state protects the church and the state, both. He openly said that he thinks atheists are far less of a threat to the Christian church than fundamentalists... by a mile. (He also said it's a crying shame that atheists are often forced to carry the burden of protecting disestablishment, when it should be the churches at the forefront of keeping religion private, with government out of its affairs and vice versa.)

However, I don't think that article you linked to shows Judge Moore going on trial. So lemme meditate on my Google-fu for a moment:

Roy Moore trial Wednesday: Will he lose chief justice job twice in 13 years?

On trial for ethics violations. Oooooooooooh, irony!

That's what I don't get. Establishment is MORE of a threat to religion then non-religion. It's insane they don't see that. No

The problem is that the ones who are causing these issues generally aren't thinkers.

They're what Vonnegut called "guessers". They just know they're right, and consequences be damned.

Exempli gratia Judge Roy Moore.

Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore suspended for remainder of his term

He don't care. He knows they'll just reelect him anyway.

You heathens didn't pray very hard. Shame on you. Laugh out load
Mr. Moore is now too old to run again for that office. He can run for Idiot-in-Chief though.

(By the way, he was again removed today from office Tongue )

Edit : His lawyer said he was a victim of those persecuting a Christian judge/politician. And THAT's exactly the problem. Thinking in those terms.

I think this comment summarizes the whole, sordid affair.

“He’s fostered in the minds of the public that the rule of the law doesn't matter, that judges are free to defy the Supreme Court and the orders of the lower federal court if they believe its appropriate,” said Carroll.

The guy swore to uphold the “Chain of Command” then pissed on it. I would think that had this happened in the armed forces it would have had much more dire consequences than suspension without pay.

In a statement, Judge Moore called the decision corrupt. “This was a politically motivated effort by radical homosexual and transgender groups to remove me as chief justice of the Supreme Court because of outspoken opposition to their immoral agenda,” he said.

Mathew D. Staver, Judge Moore’s lawyer and the founder of Liberty Counsel, a legal group that has fought against same-sex marriage, called the decision illegal and said he was appealing to the Alabama Supreme Court.

Judge Moore filed a similar appeal after the Court of the Judiciary’s decision in 2003. The justices recused themselves in that case and selected at random a panel of retired judges to hear it. The judges upheld Judge Moore’s removal.

Well, you know Alabama-- outright overrun by liberal, gay-agenda-supporting, radical atheist judges just itching to persecute a Christian. Rolleyes

Welcome to Alabama: Where the Gay Atheist Liberal Judges Are.

For fuck's sake, Roy. Get a grip on your delusions!

ETA: According to the NYT article, they only suspended, rather than removed him as in 2003, because a removal takes a unanimous verdict of the panel of judges, and this time there were apparently a couple of holdouts... but the panel made sure to make it clear that they were almost unanimous, this time, too.

Anyone know of any radical homosexual or trans groups? Blink
Seriously, is that a thing? I'm pretty sure it's not.

Immoral by your own standards, not by the standards that you have sworn (probably on a bible) to uphold. If you can't uphold both you shouldn't be a fucking judge then asshole.
