I wonder how many of those seats are really at risk?
But if the Republicans go full asshole and block confirmation, then some of those seats should change hands.

Depends who you are worried they're at Risk vs. In november perhaps a bunch of them arent, but if they vote passes before their potential primary elections in be it in march/April. If they voted to pass a guy a republican party member may be smeared aggressively by some tea party candidate pushing hard to boost anger in the weeks before the primary to beat him there.

Did I miss something? Why would one party pass a law banning taxes?

Sigghh. I know. We should use an idea that was promulgated in the '60s (I read it in Reader's Digest, don't know the author's name). That is to put a box with "None of the Above" as a choice if one didn't see a fit candidate.

If the Dems do well in the election, the Repubtards may actually regret all this posturing. It may be seen in reptospect, to have been their best chance to get someone in they could actually stomach. They're cutting off their noses to spite their faces.

For the record, here is a list of all the SCOTUS appointments during the final year of a presidency, quite a list. http://www.scotusblog.com/2016/02/suprem...ion-years/

This bullshit smoke and mirror indignation from the GOP insisting that the next POTUS should be the one to nominate a Scalia replacement is without merit or precedent.

It also shows they are "fair weather" constitutionalists and not really "conservatives". A "strict constitutionalist" would abide by the constitution. It says the president nominates and they vote. Says NOTHING about a "lame duck" period.

Welp. This can't hurt Democratic turnout whether they confirm a replacement or not. Probably be higher if they don't. Republicans cannot win if Democrats show up.
