Scary Disney
I had someone I know mentioned on Facebook that Disney cartoons contained a lot of scary stuff for children.

Come to think of it, I agree.

This scene out of Mickey's Christmas Carol freaked me out as a young child.

RE: Scary Disney
It's probably not so much that it's scary stuff for children but more children have become so wrapped up in cotton wool that we perceive it as scary for kids.

Besides, what's wrong with a little fear anyway? Keeps the little shits in line.

The pink elephant scene in Dumbo always scared me and it still creeps me out a bit today.

I used to have a bisque clown that played "It's A Small World", scared me to death. I'm now terrified of clowns and I can't to hear that song.

I remember watching Aladdin and hearing a lyric in the intro song that was cut out of the dvd (VHS?) that said "...and they cut off your hands" which freaked me out.

It's been years since i've watched it but parts of fantasia scared me as a kid. Other parts made me bored to sleep though I recall.

They changed that line in later releases of the movie and soundtrack. Instead of "Where they cut off your hand if they don't like your face," it became "Where it's black and immense and the heat is intense." The next line is, "It's barbaric, but hey, it's home!" Which makes very little sense when the previous line is discussing the weather and time of day.
