Like always: the justice system.

Quote:Secondly getting rid of guns is as stupid as getting rid of nukes. While it is silly that we still need to use them against each other, it is also stupid to assume that we should never need guns or nukes. Just like when humanity was still new and we thought that we were not only alone on the planet (white people) or any culture for that matter, we discovered that it was not true. Imagine that we get rid of our offensive weapons and discover that we are not even alone in the solar system, let alone in the galaxy and our nearest neighbors are not peaceful. It is human nature to crave power. If you disarm most of a population and only allow one group to carry weapons, the ones that are armed have no incentive to be fair.

Bullshit! If that were the case all European countries would be armed and violent dictatorships. But they are'nt.

You described the USA on the world stage to a T.

If you recall your history Europe almost became one violent dictatorship. If it weren't for the efforts of some countries and the fact that they all possessed weapons, the entire planet would be one huge dictatorship.

"Would be?"
Have you looked around lately? There are scores of highly visible puppet presidents and dictators, acting presumably independently in the interests of their peoples while effectively manipulated by the plutocracy of a few hundred billionaires with common interests.
That qualifies as "one huge dictatorship" for me.

Example: the bank bailouts (across the globe). THEY, the tax-evading haves, fucked it up, and WE, the tax-paying have-nots, can pay for it (for centuries)! TRILLIONS !
Tell me whose interests were best served in those deals?

I hope you've got something else, 'cause neither of those is going to happen. Drinking Beverage

In France it does feel some times that all that's keeping us from being under martial law is gun control and the government buying peace from all sides (religious leaders, political tyrants, African war lords...)

If their god had a huge drawn out plan for us, im pretty sure he wouldn't give a shit whether people were praying along with the teacher in a place where they are supposed to be learning other shit.

They should keep the bible thumping to Sundays and let the rest of the week go towards actual learnin'. Fuck, they can even pray to themselves or IDK hold hands with someone else in a prayer sessions between class. Why the hell does everyone else (which means every other religion and non-believer) have to hear their crappy christian prayer.

1. They are not aware that their own holy book tells them to keep it to themselves.

2. They have to pat each other on the back in order to feel morally superior.

The idea that inviting god back into schools would prevent this type of tragedy is absurd.

Is god an all powerful, all knowing benevolent being or a moody, neglectful vampire that needs an invite at the door.

Your beliefs do not make you a better person, your behavior does.

One must simply look at the middle east for evidence that an increase in religious zealotry simply produces more bloodshed.

The very saying "put god back in school" is a laughable sentence on its own, especially when no one ever says I should go back to school. Ever.

Leviticus does not justify stupidity, but it is more than enough to define corruption of the human mind.
