Semi Formal Proof for the Existence of G
I do have a question to ask for any logic buffs in here. I have debated this dude named R L, who claims to have a semi-formal proof for the Existence of G. It is quite convoluted in its first iteration, and then released a "slightly less terse" version. I know the first two fallacies he makes, special pleading and circular reasoning, but I wonder if there is a fault in the actual logic. I tried reading this thing 5 times, to refute it, and it made my head hurt. So, I warn you, it might happen to you.

Bad links.

Also, using another person’s full name unless they are a public figure, is not good form.

I have my doubts about the significance of g. I veer towards James Flynn's description of intelligence.

Or do you mean G-spot? No, that doesn't exist.

I've spend hours and hours trying to find it.

It's been fun searching though.

These links should do. And I will have changed that name. Thank you and I apologize.

The whole argument seems to be based upon the adage, "If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit."

You can't define God into existence. Consider

RE: Semi Formal Proof for the Existence of G
I had a quick look and couldn't see any definition of what "God" is supposed to be. This is all just the usual logical arguments based on undemonstrated premises, instead of actual evidence; arriving at some totally abstract non-intelligent non-personal special pleading "cause".

The word "proof" gives the game away. Proofs are for abstract systems. Evidence is for reality.

Take a formal logic class at your local community college. In one semester, you will learn how to translate argumentation and prove or disprove its validity. Good luck.

RE: Semi Formal Proof for the Existence of G
The logic isn't so much the problem, it's making blanket statements like "everything is contingent" and such nonsense. The entire conclusion stands or falls on these premises being universally true; something which is hopelessly impossible to demonstrate.

Of course, the final "cause" gets carefully omitted from these premises, making the whole thing utterly redundant.

Apologies to the regulars who will be sick of this video, but here it is for the benefit of this topic:
