RE: Share a Song
I love this one. It's deliciously funky.

Never Be Moved - Clutch

First one on the list.

Then there's the country/blues "The Regulator", and the pure face-melting awesome that is "Burning Beard", and the hard rock kickassery of "Electric Worry", and the undeniable cool of "The Devil and Me" (first one on the list again), and the techno-funk of their religious satire piece, "Big Fat Pig"...

Norman the Mormon hears the doorbell ring,
But inside they're not answering.
Peering through the window, to his surprise,
The door flies open, "Come inside!
"I am Jason the Freemason. What you're selling I do not need.
Mr. Patrick, orthodox Catholic, is more likely in your league..."

You know what, just go search for all the Clutch music you can find.

On a different track, Dire Strait's "Sultans of Swing" tops my list of Top Ten Coolest Songs. It's not the best, but it's bluesy and it's jazzy and it's smooth and it's electric all at the same time.

"Aqualung", by Jethro Tull, tells the story of one of the most repulsive human beings to ever live, but the song itself is amazing. And its companion piece, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5AamGSuh3k]"Cross-Eyed Mary", has been covered by Elf, Iron Maiden, and Clutch.

The son of a former colleague of mine is in a band down in South Carolina. I've heard some of their stuff and really liked it. This is the link to an acoustic version of one of their songs.

Savannah

Curious as to what people think.

Unbeliever: I'm impressed you've heard of Jethro Tull, but the flute, no matter how hard they try, is not a rock instrument!

...Except in the case of Jethro Tull. They are the only band who ever managed to pull it off.

Do not be knockin' Ian Anderson, boy.

I've long gone through my JT phase. Jeez, I remember them before they were "Classic" rock.

Wow, that's depressing.

And, the flute is not a musical instrument!

Btw, don't know if you saw it but ELO cellist Mike Edwards was killed by a runaway bale of hay last fall. He was my all time favorite rock cellist, too. Absolutely tragic.

trollhammaren är här!

Trolls stalking Christians... It's a classic, but I still don't think it was a good idea to give trolls trollhammers, it's getting out of hand.

After all the crappy gospel singers with their acoustic guitars and songs like Tim Minchin - I love Jesus, I've developed an allergic reaction to anything slow played on acoustic guitar with singing.
School kids should not be exposed to cheesy Jesus songs, even when it's offered for free.

If someone liked the Turisas' take on Säkkijärven Polkka, I highly recommend the Leningrad Cowboys' take on it. Leningrad Cowboys - Säkkijärven Polkka

I tried to come up with the least paganic and most sober music that I freguently listen to, and came up with this: folkish Estonian metal, Metsatöll - Vaid Vaprust
There's still the giant Suur Tõll beating up Christian crusaders with giant wagonwheels, but I tried my best. :F

Correct me when I'm wrong.

Aw, man. No, I didn't. I loved the ELO.

Thanks for depressing me. Sad
