Yay! We finally get to see how hot dances is Tongue

I made the dress, it was shantung silk from China. I also made the veil and the hat which was also silk. I got carried away and made the lacy petticoat which was 100% linen. You can see a little of the petticoat where my husband is pulling the garter off my leg with his teeth. Big Grin I wanted to wear silk stockings but I couldn't find any. I don't know if they make them anymore.

You made that yourself? Wow, you are very talented! I'll have to keep you in mind to make my dress if I ever end up getting married. Tongue

Yeah, the ol costume designer came out in me.

I was actually married twice that day. This is totally crazy but I was a nervous wreck the morning of the wedding. My husband's family had all flown out to California from South Carolina for the wedding and he has a huge, loud, raucous family. Only a few people from my family could make it and we're a pretty quiet bunch. I donno, I was just under a lot of pressure and not used to large family gatherings. So I woke up that morning and was sobbing and miserable. I wanted to get married but I wanted it to be just a couple of people witnessing it. The only way I could get married in front of his nutty family was to get married privately before hand with just a witness and the pastor who was a friend of my husbands. So that's what we did. About 4 hours before the public wedding my husband and I were legally married privately with just one witness.

After the private wedding I was fine. I wasn't nervous, I was completely calm, happy and at ease. When I walked down the aisle in the chapel I was all smiles, partly because I knew I was already married and no one knew it except my husband, myself and the pastor.

Kinda weird, huh? We finally told his family the background story to our wedding about a year later. I'm not so sure that some of them felt a little robbed, that the wedding they witnessed wasn't the real wedding. They witnessed a fake wedding. I don't care. It was my wedding day and I was gonna do what I wanted to do. So there! Angry ........Big Grin

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Totally agree-it's your wedding, you should do it the way you both want. And you also got a unique story out of it too. Wink

Why, do you not like the Pokemon hat she was wearing?
