Should I go studying?
In an other tread you can read I lost my job...

Should I enrol in a studying program?
With my 9 month severance package it sound like a now-or-never plan...

What should I follow?

9 months of severance pay?

Only one sensible path to take... invest all the money in booze, drugs and girls.

You know you want to!

Sorry to hear you lost your job. Everyone I know (yes everyone) who has been in that position, has gone on to bigger, better things.

It's an economic decision to take... how long will the money last? Perhaps it would be wise to start the job hunting now and study while you are waiting for the right role to find you.

Studying is always a smart investment. Can you do it, that is a question you need to ask yourself. Is it smart? Always.

Never turn down the opportunity for more education.

Judging the first reactions, knowlage has a very high value in this community. But that should come as no surprice. Thumbsup

I concidered that but I need the money to survive. (maybe just booze)

What should I follow?
I have a lower technical education but I've had it with the dog eat dog mentality of the industry.
I like ecology and social projects.
My two motto's are:
Technology for a better planet
and
talk softly but carry a big stick

any suggestions?

The answer to the question "should I study something" is always yes.

I say go for it.

RE: Should I go studying?
Since you already have some knowledge in technical stuff, I say continue to evolve in that direction. If you go in some other direction, you have to start from lower scale, but also, you have more diverse knowledge. I am economist (like an accountant), but also a tourism worker (receptionists and a tour-office organizer), IT technician and a web-designer. I like diversity 'cause it gives me more opportunities to work, I can work in 10 different areas of expertise, but it limits my specialization. By limiting my specialization I have limited myself to lower payed jobs. So you have to balance it, do you want diversity and more chance of finding work, or do you want a more specialized job that will give you more money and make you someones boss?
More or less...

RE: Should I go studying?
What Filox said. You should prepare yourself to plug into a very specific, specialized need, (if you want a high paying job). If that's not important, maybe ask what would be the most fun job you could imagine, and go for that.

RE: Should I go studying?
I like that diversification idea
I think diversification is the key to survival.

Making more money don't attract me all that much. I'm happy with what I got. (which is more then, lets say, 70% of the world population)

Check this out Observer. Most classes are starting right about now.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
