We don't have that particular stupid law here in Michigan, but in Zeeland Michigan it's illegal to drink beer in your front yard, or wash your car on Sunday.

Fuckin' troglodyte blue laws....

Yep. Something that has no relationship to something else is being controlled by the superstitions of one group and is the law for everyone.

Blue laws of any kind are bullshit and this is simply another blue law. This is simply another bullshit loophole Christians use to say "Oh no, it is not a religious law" when they fucking know it is to encourage people to attend church.

Other laws that don't exist now were stupid "You cant sell kitchen appliances on Sunday", and the common one still today is, "You cant sell booze/beer util noon on Sunday".

I could give a shit less about hunting on Sunday as long as the species isn't endangered and as long as you are going to kill it quickly so it doesn't suffer, and eat the meat.

These same morons who insist on these bullshit blue laws, don't understand, for example, in Morocco during Ramadan even if you are not Muslim, it is also illegal for you to eat in public in the middle of the day.

Not sure the front porch thing is about beer, but about pubic nuisance preventing noise violations and parties getting too big and out of hand. Many beach communities have laws on rentals and volume of occupancy. And even outside this issue, there is nothing wrong with being a good neighbor and keeping your noise to a minimum or in your own house.

Yes if you are not being loud or noisy especially at night, sure you should be allowed to do that. But if you are one of these assholes who thinks because you own something you have the right to be dicks to your neighbors, whom might need to sleep because they have to go to work, at that point you are just being a fucking dick. Beer or no beer. Even if you are not drinking, and you are blasting your music even with the windows closed, and your neighbor cant sleep, or their kid cant do their homework, then you are simply being a fucking dick. Noise laws, and disturbing the peace, matter, even when you are not drinking. Keep your noise to yourself and you should not have a problem drinking or not.

And not washing your car on Sunday? I might buy that one. But water use restrictions are very common in areas where supply is low because of a pipe burst or drought.

When I was a kid you couldn't buy booze at all on Sunday. Bars closed at midnight on Saturday night. We had three grocery stores in that little town in Indiana. They rotated being open from noon to six pm on Sundays. One gas station was open, just outside the city limits.

I'm old enough to remember here in TN when places like Wal Mart were closed on Sundays. While other states are legalizing and discussing legalizing weed, TN just last year allowed wine to be sold in grocery stores. But of course, you can't buy it on Sundays....because that makes sense.

RE: Should hunting be allowed during Sunday church services?
Here in the enlightened land of Madison, Wisconsin, there is a liquor store right next door to the big grocery store (same owners). The grocery store is open around the clock, and the liquor store is open 8 AM to 9 PM, 7 days a week. Sunday is no different than any other day. I have bought beer and whiskey at 8:15 AM on Sunday, while others are in church.

Big Grin
