Should the word "creature" be banned from public schools?
Just asking because "creature" implies the organism was created....possibly by God. By using that word, aren't we indoctrinating our children with religion?

I think it's acceptable when studying Greek or Christian mythology. Would Jesus be considered a creature? He created himself, and wasn't fully human.

C.J. has a nice ring to it.

If Jesus died for our sins, why is there still sin? If man was created from dust, why is there still dust? If Americans came from Europe, why are there still Europeans?

While we're at it, lets ban the word "dog" because backwards it spells god.

As opposed to created...by the parents? Or by DNA? Or evolution? Why single out God?

The word comes from the Latin 'creare', which predates the existence of Christianity by centuries. Even if the etymology suggested an external creator - which it does not; it can also suggest a thing brought forth or begotten or arising by natural means (cf crescere) - then it would have nothing to do with any monotheism.
