Then we'd need a Muslim Forum, a Buddhist Forum, a forum for the church of the flying spaghetti monster... the list never ends.
This is why we have separation of church and state!

That's why I said the thing about most of us having some type of relationship to Christianity.

A&T is within the forum category "The Heavy stuff".

You can hang sub-forums under A&T. I briefly played with it and wasn't sure about the gui/interface to access it. Seemed like more clicky clicky..

If we have a consensus to try it we will and it would be good to get outside opinions on the interface.

Are you gonna whip us with that coat ? Tongue
I'm in. I promise to leave science in my pocket. We need to recruit Mark Fulton. He knows more about the NT than anyone here.

I don't know... I'm sort of on board, but skeptical. I guess I need more information.

I don't mind having a place where people can learn about what Christianity is and all of the different sects, history, etc. This is all useful information in debating Christians, especially when it includes secular sources.

But I don't really want to see a forum where we can't debate Christianity, or where religion gets a free pass. Is that what you're suggesting?

What you are describing has never happened since the history of this forum!

No doubt if there is such a forum it will take 5 minutes and there will be a mormon porn thread

It almost sounds like your thinking of censorship...

I think KC is thinking of refining the categories

RE: Should we have a "Christian Theology" sub-forum?
I say we ask some of our new theists for their opinion. I would think they are best placed for telling us whether or not a potential theist member would see it as a positive or a negative. Could go either way really.

Best and worst of Ferdinand .....
Best
Ferdinand: We don't really say 'theist' in Alabama. Here, you're either a Christian, or you're from Afghanistan and we fucking hate you.
Worst
Ferdinand: Everyone from British is so, like, fucking retarded.

I'm not relly for it myself. Atheists from other religions tend to feel alienated enough here as it is

I'm not a non believer, I believe in the possibility of anything. I just don't let the actuality of something be determined by a 3rd party.

RE: Should we have a "Christian Theology" sub-forum?
I'm all for it, given some conditions.

One the theology and information within can be disassembled but by using counter theology instead of science. That way we can get more info about religion. It would be a great learning tool.

Also I'm all for having sub sections for any major religion if people showed interest. Why not? Aren't we fans of learning?
I think it would be nice for us to have a go to for theological info, and counter theological arguments. Not for debate but for just knowing. I like to learn. I'd love for some of the theists and theology experts to have a space for posting the stuff they know without having to wade through shit tons of atheist argument.

As atheist we pretty well know all the counter arguments, so I like the idea of a section where we don't have to see them. Instead we can become more informed about theology.

The conditions can be posted at the top of each subsection and when people fail to abide by them it's not hard to chuck a request out there for taking it to another section.
It would definitely act as a catalyst for more discussion in other sections of the forum.

Again not censorship in any way. Just fuckin organized baby.
