Gonna cook it on high for 1 hour and then add the onions, carrots, and potatoes and go low for 4-5 hours. We'll see what happens.

It'll work. Just make sure it's cooked all the way through.

If it don't fall apart when you try to lift it out with a fork it ain't done. Smile

I would have at least partially defrosted it in the microwave first. Consider

Yeah, achieved that with a gammon joint a couple of weeks ago, took 8 hours. Could stroke it apart with a fork.

Tomorrow is precious, don't ruin it by fouling up today.

Never heard of that. Looks like it's some sort of ham.

Yup, normally sold as 1/4 inch steaks but also as a lump for boiling or baking. Love it with garden peas, carrot sticks, mashed or new spuds and English mustard. Drooling

Well that worked out well. By not searing the meat more of the jus leaked into the broth and made the vegetables taste very beefy. Family liked it more than when I sear it first.

So long as that does not mean less flavour left in the beef!

But, yes, slow oven cooked lamb shank, with black pepper and rosemary, sitting on spuds and carrots so the veg get the juices. . . Drooling (again)

A bit like Spanish Jamón.

Put it in a gallon Ziploc bag and float it in hot water for an hour.
