Zeke, some books do need to be read to get the full effect. Don't miss out on the journey a good story can take you on.

Nah, to me novels are useless. I read to learn, and novels are here for entertainment.

Expanding your vocabulary, giving insight into complex issues, training your mind to see subtlety and nuance. Go read some of the classics (I suggest starting with Frank Herbert's Dune) and see if afterwards your mind has been expanded.

To think people have been killed for learning to read and yet most people would not crack a book if their life depended on it. Sad really.
