I now have a mobile broadband thingy contract for 640 and a new mobile phone number for 500.
For the phone I tried 4 shops all in a row at KLCC:
Sony... spotty kid spouting meaningless numbers. I walked out.
Samsung... spotty kid spouting meaningless numbers. I walked out.
Apple... spotty kid spouting meaningless numbers. I walked out.
Nokia... non-spotty non-kid asking about 'outcomes'.

So I got a Nokia/Microsoft phone for 430.

I'll get back 750 after 2 years so total investment = 820

Just gotta spend the next few hours setting them up.

Well the Nokia kid did have an advantage by not having to take you through all the advantages of having an app for just about everything. Tongue

Indeed.

Actually the first thing I said was that I don't use any apps. So I guess I made it easy for him.

True story.

I also said that I don't take photos. Sadly he didn't have a model without a camera but at least he didn't have to gibber on about resolution and stuff.

One day, they'll make one that has a built-in Swiss Army knife. That's the one I want.

For some things we need tools.

For the rest ... a sourcing strategy.

My 5 year old was reading a kids bible app on my phone (read other posts for back story of where I stand in my almost non-faith now)...the story he was reading was Samson. However, when it got to the end (the best parts where Samson killed everyone with jaw bone of an ass were conveniently left out) and Samson was in the temple pushing over the huge beams killing himself and everyone, my son looked up at me and said, "No way, that's impossible, I don't believe that." Never has a smile been so prevalent on my face.

- On a recent morning, I was enjoying my coffee when I spotted a fox darting through an open field near my house. It was a bit foggy and he (maybe she?) was speeding along, low to the ground. The fox was gone in a flash but I was pleased to have noticed it.
