First thunderstorm this year. Not really "small" and quite close, too. Whole house is shaking with the thunder. Pretty cool.

(Would've been even cooler, if I were in the mountains or somewhere and there was a fireplace, as well as a drink, a cat and possibly some nice company involved, but when has life ever been perfect...)

I can't figure out what this one is, though. I think it's a lily based on the shape of its leaves, but it's only ONE that grows in a random spot...

That's a fancy tulip with double petals - most likely a hybrid of some sort. Lately, I have become interested in "parrot" tulips ... the colors and "fringe" edges are a unique hybridization. There are even tulips that have checker boarding on the petals. Shy
A TULIP?! I never would have thought that Blink How did you figure it out? I've been googling what it could be for the past year! And why do you think only one grows and in that random spot I mentioned? Would the original homeowner have TRIED to create it? (She was apparently an amazing gardener; There is some kind of organic compost pile out back. It looks so rich.)

Oh those two?

Perhaps it is best not having pictures of what they did....

It's like taken straight from my (recurring) dreams. Only - a bit tamer. I guess I must be on the sick side or something, but there's something about huge waves crashing over stuff that speaks to my (non-existent) soul... Blush
