Getting told off by the local anna's hummingbirds about the feeder. I walked up on the front porch and was accosted! Naturally I took a feeder in and freshened it up for His Highness Big Grin

RE: Small Things That Make You Smile Thread
I just spent the last hour and a half on the phone with my best buddy from basic training...we haven't talked in over thirty years...and every one of those years faded away when we started talking.

The Army and life in general split us apart and we lost touch. Lately I have been going through pictures to give to my kids and I found several pictures from my basic training days. Over the years I have tried to search for my friend but didn't know her married name. After finding the pictures I decided to try again and I sent her a message and a couple pictures of us. Facebook does have it's positives.

Tonight I sent her a bunch more pictures and she called me. I have the biggest smile on my face right now! Big Grin

Tomorrow I will be calling my best friend...it's her birthday and we have been friends for 45 years even though we seldom see each other since she lives in Wisconsin.

This is turning out to be a really good weekend!

My thoughts on first glance at the first pic - looks sorta like cotton. Next two pics - oh, it's snow. Duh Facepalm It's snowing up North already? Sheesh. I'll stick with my crazy protestsants - y'all can keep your damn snow.

RE: Small Things That Make You Smile Thread
I got called in to work yesterday and had to work the entire shift. When they calle I requested they put me close to the med dispenser to minimize my walking (still hurts like hell, although improving). My assignments last night and tonight have been fuckin cush.

Not only have I had patients with cool personalities, they've been super low maintenance. Prior to midnight I completed charting my big assessments, plans of care, and education. All I have left is hourly vitals/I's&O's, 2 am labs, and 6 am meds on just one patient. They're not even on titrated drips. In the past two nights my patients have hit their call buttons ZERO times. Hell yeah!

Oh - and tonight one patient told me I pampered him so well he wasn't going to leave Smile

Ran across the Sharon Lois and Bram: Elephant Show on youtube. Kids show from when I was young. Such a throwback. Best part though, Hobbit LOVES it!

Snow melts when you're drunk, in the morning the protestants are still ugly Tongue

Sang at a Unitarian church service this morning--my first experience with this kind of church. So happy to find not a single mention of god or sin! (although there was a certain amount of reference to souls) Also nice: before the offering the minister told the congregation exactly what the funds collected were going towards (a local secular organization that feeds the hungry).

We are busy as all get-out at work and it's easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed, but at least I have a good lunch each day to look forward to. Thanks, Revs. Hug Heart

My nutty cousins from Minnesota are here for the weekend holiday. My dog and my little bro are SO over-stimulated. It's 60's but sunny on Thursday. We'll probably go surfing. Tongue It does snow up in the Eastern suburbs up by Julian. Melts by 10 AM. Laughat

Insufferable know-it-all.Einstein God has a plan for us. Please stop screwing it up with your prayers.
