Well, with the shower and clean clothes you're less likely to leave DNA trace evidence in the voting booth. Consider

RE: Small things that make you frown
I got a phone call from a political lobbying organization the other day. They called to invite me to sit down and discuss some mumbo jumbo, blah, blah, blah, how their goals are in tandem with my goals, and they want my support… Blah, blah, blah… Somehow I’m in a position to help them.

“I’m in a position to help you?”

“Yes, we would really like to set up a lunch for you and one of our coordinators in your area,”

“Yeah sure! But really, you can just cut out the middleman and tell me which candidates you'd like me to vote for. I’m happy to consider your recommendations.”

“It might be more productive if we can just meet with you face to face.”

Several DAYS later it occurs to me that they don’t give a flying fuck who I vote for. Organizations do not take people out to lunch just for a single vote, and it’s too late in the game to arrange the lunch before Tuesday anyway.

I'm so naive. They want money. Facepalm

RE: Small things that make you frown
Putting this in the “small things” thread since dad seems to be stable but he is in the hospital after having a heart attack. Tests show arteries are all clear though he does have CHD (Congestive Heart Disease) and renal issues.

He goes off Plavix so he can get a cortisone shot in his lower back because of a painful herniated disk. In just a few days off the medicine he spits out a small clot that passes through the heart.

On my way to see him now. I told him he has to wait to die until June 4th of next year as I have already planned a vacation with him and mom and we return on that day.

I need to get in the right frame of mind, he likes to joke around and I don’t want to be morbid when I see him. Come on dad, hang in there, I’m not done with you yet. Sadcryface

Best wishes to your dad, FC.

As the survivor of two heart attacks in one night, either of which should have been fatal, I am proof that there is life after near death!

Tomorrow is precious, don't ruin it by fouling up today.
