Wikipedia is your friend.

But what I want to know is why a bunch of white boys are the "All Blacks"?

I watched a grand championship a couple years ago in Rugby.. it ended in a tie for which their way of settling it was say, come back in a week or two.

I turned on this game but when one team is slaughtering the other, i think it's harder to figure out what's going on.

It's kinda like a thinking person's American Football.

I nearly said "for real men" but there are moments when one weeps like a girly...

It's simple really.
Two teams, one ball.
Gotta touch the ball down on the ground behind the opponent's try line.
Or kick the ball between the posts but above the horizontal bar.

Unlike Grid Iron, when a player gets tackled the game plays on, the teams continue fighting for possession of the ball.
Also unlike Grid Iron, you are not allowed to throw the ball forward. and unlike Grid Iron, there's really no excitement about gaining 10 yards of territory. You need to keep playing and try and go all the way to score a try.

Oh, and I almost forgot, what would seem obvious to most people is that you try and tackle the guy carrying the ball. If they ain't got the ball, you don't tackle them.

Oh, also. Each player, actually has to play the game. You don't have a specialist kicker that only comes on to kick the ball, you don't have an offensive team and a defensive team. The Rugby players are capable of running with the ball AND also capable of tackling other players running with the ball. And the kicker (Full back), well he can run and tackle and kick.

Also, also, also unlike Grid Iron... it doesn't induce sleep.
