How's the 'chat' room research going? Are we gonna get one? Yes
Probably be a good idea Smile

Maybe then there will be less thread derailment with random topics out of the blue. Since that would be a convenient platform for such a thing.

I wonder if people would still use the forum or if whats really wanted is an atheistic chatroom.

I think they would - if other forums I've visited is any indication. I think it could be a lot of fun Thumbsup

I suppose you could review it after a certain amount of time Consider

Is it hard to implement?

Probably hard to maintain more than anything.
Keeping the cyber from getting out of hand with our resident preacher and our natural hedonistic desires we all adopted when renouncing religion.

RE: So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
I was on a forum about as big and busy as this one a few years ago (before Facebook took over the world) and there was a chat room and a chat box. The box was always busy with small talk that was fun. The chat room was busy in waves and the admin complained a lot about maintaining it, but I don't know why.

I am SO in favour of these things. There are so many times I want to make a comment but have no where to put it, that's why I started the shout thread, but it still isn't as satisfying Sad Real time chat is fun, too.

RE: So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
The final goodbye, the request to delete your account, the obvious "please tell me to stay and boost my ego", it's sickening. My 15 year old daughter dishes out less drama. For a person of your age, and your experience, you sure do have a talent for acting like a child.

If you're done with the forum, just walk away. If you need a break, just walk away. If you have people you consider friends here, send them a private message saying goodbye......and then just walk away. And that should go for anyone who decides to leave. Take your drama with you!
